Ingredients

  • 4 boneless salmon fillets
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp dried parsley or 2 tsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 lemon sliced into half-moons

Equipment

  • Baking tray
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Foil or silicone mat
  • Pastry brush or spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F. Line a baking tray with foil or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared tray. Pat them dry with a paper towel so the glaze adheres properly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, honey, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  4. Pour the honey garlic butter sauce generously over each fillet. Some sauce may pool on the tray, which you will use for basting.
  5. Arrange the lemon slices on and around the salmon fillets.
  6. Bake for 8 minutes, then open the oven and baste the salmon with any sauce that has collected on the tray.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 4 to 7 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is golden. Check at the 4-minute mark for thinner fillets.
  8. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes before serving. Spoon any remaining pan sauce over the top before plating.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before adding the glaze for best results. Baste halfway through baking for a glossy caramelized finish. Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days and are great flaked over salads or grain bowls. Reheat at 275F covered with foil to keep the fish moist.
