Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough (10 to 12 ounces)
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 12 slices ham thin
  • 4 oz Pepper Jack cheese sliced
  • 15 slices salami
  • 15 slices pepperoni
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley chopped fine
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
  • cracked black pepper to taste
  • marinara sauce for dipping

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Roll the pizza dough into a 12 by 14 inch rectangle on a floured surface or parchment paper.
  2. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic. Add ½ cup mozzarella, leaving a border on one long edge and both short edges.
  3. Layer the ham, Pepper Jack, salami, another ½ cup mozzarella, and pepperoni. Top with the remaining cheese and parsley.
  4. Brush the exposed dough edges with the egg wash. Roll it up tightly starting from the filling edge. Pinch the seam and ends closed with wet fingers.
  5. Transfer to a baking sheet. Brush the top with egg wash, sprinkle with Parmesan and black pepper, and cut shallow slits on top.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Let it rest briefly, slice into pieces, and serve with warm marinara sauce.

Notes

Assemble the stromboli earlier in the day and keep it covered in the fridge to bake right before dinner for a quick weeknight meal.
